Our journey started with quite a few issues to deal with, from flaky dry scalp & dandraff to sensitive scalp allegies. For myself in particular I had to deal with traction aloepicia & a receeding hairline due to tight hairstyles I had worn since I was a teenager. The result of this was 2 bald patches at the back of my head that would not regrow and very thin on both sides of my head.

We started out by trying to fix our scalp issues with regular shampoo from the store, but that just seemed to aggravate the issue . I then did some research on essetial oils and added those to our shampoos and conditioners. We started using natural hair care products (mainly international brands) as that was very popular at the time. Somehow with these products, I still had to add oils to the conditioners and the curl cremes. It was either it had created too much build up or did not retain moisture well as we weould be back to dry hair one day after washday.

For myself in particular, I needed to fix my patches very fast as I had done a big chop and it was not easy to hide my patches. I had used black eye-liner to fill up my patches for the longest time!(true story). I remember sitting in a waiting room one day and decided to google natural remedies to regrow hair. It was at that moment that I had found out the amazing world of aryvedic herbs. From there I started to try out different receipes with different powders and everyday I learnt something new about the pwer of plants to enhance your natural hair journey. It was out of this that my first product was born which is now referred to as the Herbal growth Elixir. I started sharing my oil with family and friends that had experienced similar problem areas and to my amazment, this oil actually worked! From amazing hair growth stories to improvement in the overall health of their hair. I knew I had a winner.

From there, I continued my journey of mixing products using plant herbs, powders, natural oils and essential oils. My next product was a whipped butter mixed with moringa and hemp seed powder and the signature afrodite oil. This provided the much needed moisture for my 4c hair but came with the disadvange that the butter changed consistenscy as the weather changes and it was to heavy for both my daughters hair. Needless to say, many hours of research later, I leant how to develop my own creams but still sticking to my methodolgy of using plant powered ingriedients to enhance the health of ones hair.
